When writing the Interactive Book About Me series I wasn't thinking about developing a website. However, I soon realized this was the next step in the world of publishing. Welcome to my latest adventure!
My goal in writing the books was to offer a venue for meaningful parent/child connections in learning. This website is designed to extend that support to you as parents, grandparents, or caregivers of young children in your daily quest of providing learning opportunities.
As an educator and author of the Interactive Book About Me series (K. A. Bye, illustrated by Earl W. Ridgell, Jr.), I have had the good fortune of watching children discover themselves as readers and writers. It is my hope that you will share the magic of a first learning experience with your own young child. Whether you are at home with your pre-school child, a home-schooling parent, or sending your child off to school each day you are your child's first teacher. Enjoy your role!

Fall is quickly turning into winter, with the early mornings crisp with the first hints of the changing season. With this change, my thoughts are focused on the upcoming holidays with all of the memories that will be created through the festivities this year.
Last year we started what we now want to become a tradition in our home. we put out a small undecorated tree wih a variety of ornaments for the grandchildren to decorate when they arrived for the holidays. Each child first chose the one ornament they would take home for the year and then added some additional ones to complete the tree. Click here for more...
